A native of Lafayette, Dr. Chastant earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans. He completed his internship, general surgery residency and otolaryngology residency specializing in head and neck surgery and facial plastic surgery at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. Teaching appointments include Clinical Instructor at LSU School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology and Residency Program Director at University Medical Center Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He has authored and contributed to numerous publications and research papers. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Otolaryngologic Allergy, Louisiana State Medical Society, Lafayette Parish Medical Society, and Independent Physician Association of Louisiana. He also serves on the Lafayette General Medical Center Board of Trustees and the Lafayette General Surgical Hospital Executive Committee.
